Incentives to Save Money

  • The PSE Flex Batteries program rewards homeowners for allowing their home battery to support the local power grid during times of high demand — without sacrificing your comfort or backup power needs, by allowing PSE to draw energy from your home battery system during a designated Flex event.

Upon successful enrollment in the PSE Flex Batteries program, you will receive a one-time enrollment incentive equal to $75 per kWh of battery storage, up to $1,000 maximum per battery. Once in the program, you’ll earn $.50 per kWh of energy used from your battery system for participation during Flex events.

If you already have a battery installed, this program lets you earn incentives simply by participating. If you’re considering a battery for the first time, the Flex Batteries program makes installing a battery system more affordable while increasing long-term value.

Check out our PSE Flex Batteries page to learn which batteries we install are eligible (FranklinWH, Enphase, and Tesla).

For official requirements and eligibility details, visit PSE’s website.

  • There is no sales tax on solar or backup battery solutions powered by solar in the state of Washington through 2029.

More About the Powerwall 3

Smaller Tesla Powerwall 3 standalone image, Blossom Solar

The Powerwall 3 has an integrated solar inverter, allowing up to 20 kW of solar to be connected to the system (more than twice the capacity of the Powerwall 2), capable of generating plenty of power for your home and battery. This combination of equipment offers savings on home solar and battery combo systems with fewer system components.

Tesla’s updated the battery chemistry with this new addition to their battery lineup as well. The Lithium-Ferro-Phosphate (LFP) battery cells is another upgrade from the Lithium-Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC) used in the Powerwall 2, offering a safer (improved thermal stability) and more sustainable (no Cobalt) home backup solution.
