Two ways to get more from your car

Every option starts with a Wall Connector in your garage. Add Powerwall 3 and a compatible car becomes backup power for your whole home.

Option 2 · Charging + Powerwall 3

Your car can power your home

With Powershare vehicle-to-home, a compatible Model 3, Model Y or Cybertruck works together with Powerwall 3 to back up your home through an outage, even without solar panels.

  • Tesla estimates a Model 3 or Model Y adds over two days of backup for a home using 30 kWh a day, starting from a 90% charge. Cybertruck's larger battery goes further.
  • Powerwall 3 keeps your home running on its own, and your car extends it for days.
  • Add solar any time to recharge both during a long outage.
  • Powerwall 3 is made in the USA.

Does your car support Powershare?

Check in 30 seconds from the driver's seat.

  1. On the touchscreen, tap Controls (or Settings), then Software.
  2. Tap Additional Vehicle Info.
  3. Look for Powershare Support: Enabled.
Don't see "Enabled"? A software update won't add it, because the feature depends on hardware built into the car. Home charging (Option 1) works for every model. Not sure? Snap a photo of that screen and attach it to your quote request.

Why Blossom Solar

  • Local Washington solar, battery and electrical team
  • Charging, Powerwall 3 and solar from one crew
  • In Washington, backup is about keeping the lights on through storms and outages

Powershare home backup requires a compatible vehicle, Powerwall 3, and a Universal or Gen 3 Wall Connector. Powershare support depends on vehicle hardware and can't be added with a software update. U.S. Model 3 and Model Y vehicles ordered on or after October 1, 2026 are capable. Earlier vehicles vary, so confirm under Software > Additional Vehicle Info. All Cybertruck vehicles are supported. Model S and Model X are not currently supported. Backup duration varies with vehicle state of charge, home energy use and conditions; figures are Tesla estimates. Charging speed varies by vehicle, circuit and electrical panel. Blossom Solar is an independent Tesla Energy Certified Installer. Tesla, Powerwall, Powershare, Wall Connector, Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck are trademarks of Tesla, Inc.
