Solar Install in Lynnwood, WA
Let’s chat details, shall we?
Blossom Solar installs solar panels, backup battery systems, and electric vehicle (EV) chargers all over Washington state.
Our project here finds us within Snohomish County in the city of Lynnwood, WA. Lynnwood is just about smack dab in the middle of Seattle and Everett, WA where I-5 and I-405 meet, providing easy access to jobs, shopping, arts, food, etc in just about all directions. But why leave Lynnwood when there are so many options within the city? Lynnwood leads the region in retail shopping options with its destination hotspot, the Alderwood Mall. It also has a wide array of restaurants, four museums, parks galore, and so many other activities to explore within the city.
Anyhow, our customer here decided to install a solar panel system and an EV charger. Their solar panel system is an 8.2 kW using the REC Alpha Pure 410AA paired with Enhpase microinverters. Now, every customer has different energy needs; no two homes use the same amount of energy and that’s due to a variety of factors. On top of that, customers have different goals. Most share the desire for making a positive impact on the environment or gaining some distance from their utility’s ability to impact their pocketbook, but just about everyone has a financial goal in mind. This customer was primarily focused on how their system would pencil out financially as well as the system’s ability to meet their energy needs - current and near future.
This system size was designed to meet the customer’s current needs and then some. Our Sales Manager, Matt Peters, happened to be working with this customer and he analyzed their historical kWh data in order to size the system to produce enough energy to meet their annual needs, but the customer wanted to account for the future purchase of an EV. So, Matt sized the system a little bigger in order to produce the forecasted energy this future purchase would consume.
One thing to keep in mind is that in Washington state, we’re utilizing the Net Metering program. You can read more about it here. In essence, our goal is to generate enough energy to offset total kWh (electricity) consumption through the year and leverage the exchange of energy with the utility and bank credits on billing statements. This is a GREAT incentive provided by the state. It means that monthly production from a solar system doesn’t have to match the consumption. AWESOME!
