Solar Install in Kent, WA

Let’s dive into the details!

As you may already know, we install solar panel and backup battery systems all over the state of Washington, but it’s nice when we have a project in a neighboring city to one of our shops, like in Kent, WA. Kent has a lot going on for itself. It’s sandwiched between Seattle and Tacoma, and not too far from Auburn, Renton, and Bellevue - a prime location for a wide array job opportunities, entertainment, etc.

Anyhow, most of our customers are looking to offset as much of their energy usage as they possibly can, but there are a few factors that determine the percentage of energy we’re able to offset: amount of energy consumed, available roof space, obstructions, and where they’re located in the state. As you may have guessed, we’re not able to offset every customer’s usage by 100%. Some customers have energy needs

that surpass the amount of energy we’re able to generate with the available roof space, BUT we’re still able to save them money on their electricity bill, like with this customer we recently installed.

Our customer here had their electricity bill and energy independence in mind when they opted to go for solar and backup battery with generator integration. This 70 panel, 28 kW solar system was comprised of the Silfab Prime SIL-400 HC+ and Enphase microinverters. This big boy is producing some major energy! Over the last few years, a good portion of our customers have flocked to Silfab since it’s produced in Bellingham, WA. This customer was no different. The panel’s local origin story was the primary reason for their choice of panel, but the all black panel’s modern aesthetic didn’t hurt either.

As mentioned earlier, this customer also elected to install backup battery to go along with their solar panel system. We installed the Enphase IQ Battery 10, a 10 kWh backup battery system with enough energy to power the critical needs most homeowners are focused on, such as the refrigerator to ensure food is kept from spoiling, TV for a few hours to stay tuned in on any breaking weather reports, modem and router to stay connected, some lights, as well as a few other small items in the home.

What’s makes this system so great is that the solar panel system and the backup battery are all managed within the same app - Enphase’s Enlighten app. For the solar, you can monitor system performance down to the individual panel, keep tabs on total system production, what you’re consuming from the grid, and what you’re exporting back to the grid. For the battery, you can manage how your battery is used - whether that be daily when the sun goes down, or saved for when the weather knocks out the power (recommended for now).

Going solar is a big step, and just like this customer from Kent, Washington, it started with a conversation. If you’d like to learn more, click the Get Quote button below.
