The Blossom Garden
What is the Blossom Garden?
The city of Bothell sits north of Lake Washington, and is the home of the Blossom Garden! We’ve had the pleasure of installing 6 rooftop solar systems in the same housing development, with more on the way. True to its name, the garden grew organically, with neighbors referring neighbors and spreading solar from house to house! We wanted to highlight this string of projects to demonstrate how one person’s investment in solar can sprout more than 50kW of renewable, zero-emission energy!
How it all began.
The Blossom Garden got its start with one excited customer in July of 2020. Inspired by our referral program, the homeowner referred his neighbor, who was impressed with the quality and aesthetics of the install. He liked this install so much that he requested the same system from our design consultant, Justin. With Justin’s advice, he ended up choosing Silfab panels, a locally manufactured option with a similar look. Each homeowner received a referral thank-you of $500.

How it’s growing.
As word spread, more neighbors were interested in solar and had first-hand examples of the systems and customer experiences throughout their own community. The second homeowner referred the next, and so on, until ultimately six systems have been installed today with more on the way! This neighborhood in particular was motivated by all of the benefits solar can offer in Washington, including saving money on their electric bills, being more environmentally friendly, and putting infrastructure in place for future electric vehicles. They were already accustomed to sharing tips and advice about home improvement, and solar was the natural next step!
Referrals…
The Blossom Garden came about in large part due to our referral program! Any new customer who is referred to us will receive a $500 discount on their install, and the referrer receives $500 as a thank you! This program applies regardless of whether the referrer has solar with Blossom, so if you have friends or family who are interested in going solar, send them our way!
As the Blossom Garden continues to grow, we hope to stay involved with the community, and have plans to build a garden for residents to enjoy. We see the Blossom Garden as an archetype of how good experiences with solar and referrals from trusted friends and neighbors can help popularize solar and serve as education for the community at large. The Garden is beginning to expand further, with more referrals to friends and family in other cities, including nearby Woodinville. We hope to see more Solar Gardens as people move toward greener solutions!
